Sorry if this has been covered, I searched but cant come up with good search terms to yield any relevant results.

When I look in settings, I have ~1.5GB remaining (32gb mini). I then tried to add a 500MB tv episode to AV Player HD via itunes, and it would complain that there was not enough storage.

Strange thing about it is that if I fire up the transfer on AV Player, the file transfers just fine, and is complete.

Is there some sort of buffer/cache that itunes is not clearing out when I free up space that makes it think my ipad is full when its not?

Am I just an idiot?

iTunes doesn't clear any caches itself. Various apps should be doing it but not all apps are correctly coded to do it. One thing that often works is powering off the iPad. If that doesn't work then try a hard reset (hold both the sleep and home button while the iPad shuts off and the reboots. Let go of both at the same time after the apple shows up)

Thanks, this is helpful. I'll try it and see.
