Hi guys,

I've got a 2011 Late Macbook Pro 15" i7 running Lion. Now, i've been out of the loop for quite some time now (used to be big on PC gaming, performance etc) and i'm sure my MBP isn't performing well.

iTunes full screened -

i've only got around 2500 tracks in my library but scrolling is horrendous, it's not like a slide show but i'd say it would be like playing a game at 15 fps. It feels slow and inaccurate.

This happens when no apps are running and when a lot are running.

Now surely after paying £1.3k I should expect it to be super fast? I'm pretty sure my godknows how old Q6600 2gb Windows 7 rig runs it faster.

To compare, my iPad 2 on Safari - when you flick down, it's super slick, feels fluid and accurate - feels more like 50 fps.

NB.

When I say scrolling is slow I don't mean how fast the page is scrolling up and down - just how smooth it appears.

iPhoto 11 -

This is fairly fast when it is the ONLY app running but as soon as I open iTunes, Firefox (with a few tabs open) clicking on an event/album will result in a 1 or 2 sec delay before it opens and a general laggy sluggish feel to it.

Is this normal? I really don't want to have to close everything down just when I want to organise a few photos.

I'm going to go into my local Apple store soon to compare but it just doesn't feel right :(

Cheers guys :)
