itunes shared library question

I have itunes always running on a mac mini. I also connect to that library from my laptop. Is there a way to force itunes to open that library the way I like it (song view with column browser on)? Opening to a huge wall of album covers is useless to me. It would also be nice if the column browser could open 1/2 way down the screen rather than only a few lines at the top.

i dont know of any way to change the default view, but you can always go to song view and then sort by "album artist" this will sort alphabetically by artist name and then put the albums in their proper order. I think for whatever version i am using, it will open back up in the song view every time after i have quit with it setup that way
