ok, this is a bit complicated but i'll try to explain as well as i possibly can.
at uni i have a wireless connection. i log in initially using PPoE (with a fix so that panther supports it natively) and then onto a VPN. once im logged into these i use proxies to connect to the web etc.
my problem is i cant see other users of the system's itunes libraries. all pc users connecting to the same VPN with the exact same method can access each others libraries whether they are in this building on the same wireless network or not.
I cannot see their libraries and they cannot see mine, let alone connect.
I gather rendezvous doenst carry across and this is why it wont work. do pc users use another method to connect to each other and could a mac be made to do the same thing?
ive seen rendezvousbeacon but i dont think this would help me to connect to anything but other mac users running the same software.
is there anything i can do!?
