itunes shows only iphone and ipad on a Macbookpro

I am using a Macbook pro and when I go to Itunes to select a free app I only see tabs for Ipad and iphone but not the Macbookpro. I am running 12,0,1,26 of itunes, how can I correct this?

when I tried to place this post on Apple forum i got the message "your are not allowed create or update this item"

Mac apps are not bought from iTunes. There is a separate app on your Mac called the Mac App Store:
