I have had a problem with the download speed on iTunes for a month or so. This was particularly highlighted by today's software update which would have taken 80 minutes had I let it continue. I stopped it and used the direct download link in Safari which took 5 mins.
I have read that Google's DNS servers can cause a problem but I haven't changed my defaults. I am in the UK and use O2 Home Broadband.
