iTunes song transfer

I'm a .mac user and am going to get a new .mac email address. Is there anyway I can transfer my purchased songs to a new iTunes account, or if I start purchasing songs on a new account, when I upgrade to a new computer and have to deauthorize my old computer, I'm going to have to deauthorize it twice (once for each account) and then authorize the new computer twice (once for each account). I would like to stop using the old account and move everything to the new account, but am not sure if this is possible.

Umm, it might be easier to simply change your email address for your current Apple ID, or did I miss something?
