For some reason, after upgrading to Lion, I keep getting songs skip during playback on iTunes.

The Mac Mini does have only 2 Gigs of ram, but after checking Activity Monitor, iTunes is only using a small amount (45MB). Is this a bug in Lion? I don't get this problem on my 2011 MBP.

I'm on a quad-core i5 iMac with 12GB of RAM, and I'm getting it too.
It's really bad when I'm over 300% CPU utilization.
I've tried renicing iTunes down to -15, and it still skips.

I also see visual "skips" in video in iTunes sometimes. VLC is still as smooth as silk.

I'm also getting audio playback skipping in iTunes after upgrading to Lion, and I'm on a quad-core Intel i7 2.2 GHz with 8GB RAM! It's not from a lack of hardware resources.
