According to all my googling, everyone seems to say that Sound Enhancer is the devil, along with using the EQ, but personally I keep comparing playback with them on vs. off and I always get better sound with them on. Do people just hate them because they're not the pure, unaltered audio, or do some people actually think they sound worse?

Do you guys use them?

It is subjective really. If you have low end speakers, or the default ones on the iMac, then the sound enhancer is good (I leave it turned on on the iMac, with 25% enhancement). On the other hand, I wouldn't I leave it off when it comes to playing music on the 5.1 home theatre cause SE makes the sound feel a little bit hollow.

A choose your poison kind of situation I guess.
