iTunes sound latest update

Hi.
Since updating to MacOS 10.12.3 and iTunes 12.5.5.5 the sound from my Macbook (2015) seems to have been reduced.
I now have to have it at half volume to get close to listenable sound and it just doesn't have that 'presence' that it had prior to that.
Anyone else noticing this?

The iTunes volume is at maximum as normal and Sound Check is off.

Check your equalizer settings under window/equalizer and you can boost the preamp, or use a preset to get the sound you want (limited to the speaker size & quality)...
