Itunes Starts Itself...

Ok this is kinda weird, I am relatively new to Mac and can't find the solution to this but my itunes keeps on opening itself. Everytime I login to the internet I tunes starts itself and no it's not that it's looking for updates, it's the latest version. This was till yesterday but today, though, I wasn't connected to the internet Itunes is acting weird and starting up itself every couple of minutes or so...any help would be appreciated guys..

Do you have any tabs set to open an iTunes link?

Duff-Man says....this is sometimes the fault of the iTunes dashboard widget - try disabling it and see if that resolves the issue....oh yeah!
