I there, first post here on what looks like a great site. Sorry if this is in the wrong place but it's a bit of a mix of a few problems
.
I have an music collection that's currently over 63Gb and need to add another 12Gb to it. That's way to big to fit on my macBook Pro so I have a NAS box on the LAN. It's a D-Link DSM-G600 with a 250Gb HD in. Now the Windows XP machines on the network see the drive fine and am easily syncing 200Gb of stuff up there without a problems. Even the Tosh tablet PC doesn't have a problem using it. The mac on the other hand is werid.
I can see the drive and talk to it, but every now and then it just sort of freezes and I get told the drive has disconnected. Now this is a megga problem as iTunes then appears to freeze up for a long while and has started marking hundreds if not thousands of tracks with the "!", ie not there !
Am I doing something wrong or being a plank ? Surely you can use network drives just like in PCs and they don't drop ? Or is there an issue with the NAS box, if so how come it works lovely for the PCs ?
Thank you in advance for any replys, thoughts or suggestions

The NAS is connection to the LAN with a gigabit connection and the mac uses 802.11g WiFi to the LAN. No the WiFi doesn't drop when the NAS vanishes.
