iTunes Store No Longer Recognizing Purchased Music

Has anyone else noticed that the iTunes Store (from iTunes on my Mac) no longer recognizes that music, movies or tv shows have already been purchased? When I pull up a song/album, movie or tv show I already bought from iTunes, I'm still presented with the "buy" button. I know that before if I owned a song for example, the button would be grayed out and it would say "purchased." Oddly enough Apps do indicate that they've been purchased because the "buy" button is grayed out and it says "downloaded." If I click on a song/movie/tv show I already own, the store still prompts me to allow me to buy it.

Has anyone else noticed this change? I find this terribly inconvenient/suspicious.

I just looked at a couple of my recent iTune store purchases and they are 'greyed' out with the words 'purchased' in place of the ' buy ' option.

I just looked up some older purchases and they were grayed out. So maybe it's sort of hit and miss. Doesn't make much sense.
