Britain.
OK, with the announcement that next week there's the Let's Rock event, obviously to do with iPods and or iTunes 8/iTMS -- I'm speculating as to why the UK and US store's haven't updated today.

The fact the store hasn't updated makes me think Apple are probably working on something within the store itself?

HD movies? The subscription service? Something entirely new?

Or are they sometimes late?

Yeah I noticed. Usually they update at anywhere between 10PM and 11PM MST on Monday nights. I see there were new movies added when you sort the complete movie list by date added, they just don't show where they normally do when you click the movies tab on top.

Yesterday was a Bank Holiday in the US, which normally means that the Store update is a day late.

Why would they update the iTunes Store prior to a PR Event and reveal?

Wasn't a bank holiday here with me and you.

Or is everything updated from the US, rather than each store having a specific team of staff in a specific country?

I have no idea if they update the Store centrally or by region, but update delays in the past have corresponded with Bank Holidays.

EDIT: I've just checked the store and the free 'Single of the Week' has been updated since I last checked this morning, so it looks like they are updating it now.
