iTunes Streaming

I have not been able to figure out how to get home sharing, ability for iMac to stream audio and video working properly, I never get shared to show up in finder or on an iPad. Will iMac stream music and videos to an iPad in the same wifi
and if it really can, how!

Yes it will. Are both on the same network and using the same Apple ID? Make sure home sharing is turned on on both the iMac and iPad.

Everything is set as far as I can tell but how would you use this to stream from iTunes to say an iPad Air?

Streaming to iPad Air

In Settings -> iTunes & App Store turn on Show All, then in Settings -> Video make sure Show All is also on, then all your videos in iTunes will show up. When you select a video you can either download it, or push play to stream it. Here is a video that shows how it's done.
