Why is it that some burned cd's don't show the song titles? I hate having to put them in manually. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't? Do I have to buy some separate app or what's the trick?

If they're store bought CD's then the track tags should be there no doubt. However, if it's a home made CD then there's a chance the track tags will not show up. You can download Tagalicious or something similar to have all the tags added for you, otherwise you have to do it manually.

Yes, except when the artists is not very known (it has too be really unknown in order to not be identified by Tagailcious, which uses the Gracenote plugin.
