i was downloading some music and my computer froze and when i restarted it, my itunes had to recover my library's .xml file, and couldn't. it just gave me a damaged library. so over 10,000 songs are now missing from my library. they are still on my computer; however, now i have two temp files in my Music > iTunes folder, and whenever i try to delete them, everything freezes again.

i scanned the downloaded material, and it's all benign. any clue on what is going on and how i can fix this???

iTunes still opens, but i want those files out of my life.

i have iTunes 6.0.4, if that helps.
