As I mentioned in another thread, but wanted to repost because that was a side-topic in daily tunes discussion, I recently d/l'd a song from iTMS that consistently crashes iTunes at the same point in the song. After contacting iTMS customer service, I re-downloaded, and it does the *same* thing. Repairing permissions and rebooting did not resolve the issue. The crash log reports:
Everything else that I have seen seems to work fine in iTunes, although I did have one unexplained system lock-up since I got Tiger, in which iTunes was playing, and the song hiccuped and then locked in short cycle during the freeze (it wasn't this same song, but that song has played normally subsequently).
And oddly, this song plays through to the end on my iPod, but has weird bursts of noise near the beginning (long before the point at which iTunes locks up). I had a similar issue (noise on the iPod only, without the same noise in iTunes, but not the crashes) on another purchase, but got re-auth'd to download it again, and the second download seems to be fine. I sent in another note to iTMS customer service, but this is really baffling me.
I guess one more thing to play around with would be to see what happens if I try to burn it to a CD, just out of curiousity. I don't know if it's worth the bother, though, to burn it to a CD and re-rip.
