iTunes TV Shows

I'm thinking of downloading tv shows from itunes instead of buying BluRay or DVD's. However if I'm downloading a lot of seasons in HD I'm worried about running out of space on my MacBook. What is the best way to save them? Can I store them on a external drive and move them back to itunes when I want to watch them?

You can change the location of your iTunes library to be the external drive, if you want. You can access them whenever the drive is plugged in.
