iTunes U PDFs - how to view in iBooks

Aloha everyone,

I have several PDFs from iTunes U, but cant, for the life of me, figure out how to view them in iBooks on my iPhone 4, iPad, iPod touch, or iPod 3G. They show up in iTunes, in the Books section for each device, but even after checking the box and syncing it to any of the devices, it never appears on the bookshelf for PDFs. If anyone knows how to achieve this, please let me know.

Under Get Info>Options>Media Kind they have to be Book is my suggestion.

I neglected to put that in my original post, but I've already tried that. Still no joy, however. This is really driving me up the wall, but I'll continue to find a solution - if so, I'll post it here.
