I updated my iTunes version from 10.0.1x two days ago to 10.2.2.12 (latest version) and I'm seeing grey colored boxes around some buttons on the interface when I bring up the program from a minimized state or when it was behind another window. Is this normal (bug) or should I reinstall iTunes to fix the problem?

There's nothing wrong with the update itself. Have you tried rebooting? That's a basic step in troubleshooting. If that doesn't help, you might consider reinstalling.
