iTunes: use a video file as visualizer

I want to use a video file from my hard drive as iTunes visualizer. I have googled for solutions for quite a while and the only thing I could find was the "movmeter" plugin (http://8-p.info/Movmeter/index.html.en) - however, I cannot install it. If I try to mount the extracted .dmg file, my mac tells me it cannot open it.

Does anyone here have the same problem? Do you know any alternatives to movmeter for my purpose?
