Hi,
Can anyone shed some light please? I would like to have a seemless music and video library.

I have an iMac (250Gb), that was OK as my iTunes (music & audible) library is about 100Gb. BUT.. Since I got my AppleTV I can see myself soon running out of HD space very soon - so I have a external 500Gb now but NOT keen on transferring the complete library.

Therefore, I am looking for a way to span two HDs:
1) either via 2 libraries (down side is having to restart iTunes via the OPTION key, so its not seemless)
2) or hopefully "1" library but keeping my music on my internal drive and movies on an external (so my iPhone and ATV only requires 1 instance of iTunes running).

I would prefer option 2 (this is where I need some advice as have not found any solution), but as a last resort until a working solution comes up... go with option 1 as an "archive" service and only keep older TV/movies there.

FYI I have been looking at:
(confirms spanning by iTunes 7, but you need to start up via "option" key to select library)

Many thanks in advance..
