Imagine someone using his computer (say, an iBook) as a component in a stereo system. It would not be easy to read the small text of title/artist in the normal iTunes window from across the room. But with this, you activate the visualization and now this information is displayed in a really big font, so you have no problem seeing it from anywhere in the room.
I suspect that this program was written with a very specific purpose in mind. Perhaps just the one I described.
