I posted a few weeks ago about a problem I was having with distortion, but I think I figured something out... when I plug my headphones directly into my ibook and listen directly from itunes, the sound is wonderful. But when I listen to the same song through my ipod, the quality is noticeably worse and a bit distorted. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

If it's not too much hassle I'd try restoring the firmware of the iPod (Restore from the iPod Software Updater) and then re-sync the songs. 
EQ is off (otherwise I only get like 5 hrs. or so of battery life) so I don't know if that's an issue.. I'll try the firmware restore and see what happens.
