Greetings,
I would greatly appreciate anyone's help. I have the latest version of toast (10) and itunes. I am trying to back up a few cd masters of various mix cds that I'm downloading.
When I drag and drop the songs into Toast (after downloading them) and play them back in toast I get the annoying gap (or a brief pause) in between songs that so many people experience.
I do have the settings set so there is no gap, nor pause in between songs.
I hear the gap when playing back in toast and when I burn a cd image in toast and then take that cd and play it on an external cd player. I also hear the gap if I drag and drop everything to a new playlist in peak. The gap is visible in the waveforms.
HOWEVER, If I drag/drop these same songs into itunes I don't get the gap. Go figure, as itunes used to be notorious for the gap between songs when trying to play a mix cd.
I can then burn a master CD via itunes and play it back on an external cd player without hearing gaps (or brief pauses) between songs. I can even take that same master and import the songs into Toast and not hear the pauses. I can also drag and drop the songs from the itunes cd master into toast, then save that image as a new cd image and I still don't hear the gap.
Can someone please explain why this is happening?
I do not have this problem in toast if I take a mix CD that I already have saved on my computer. I can take the same image and play it in toast with no gaps. I'm not sure why it only happens when I download the songs.
I would love to eliminate the step of having to drag the files into itunes, burn a CD then drag them back to toast in order to create a cd image.
I would appreciate any help...
on a side note, does anyone know how to get Jam 6 to open up on 10.6.2?
My image doesn't open. I assume I have rosetta installed. I don't know how to double check, but I do remember installing it..
Thanks!
