Itunes wants to restore my iphone to backup?

Hello! I'm not quite sure what the problem is here. My Iphone works fine, but when I plug it into itunes, it doesn't go to the screen with the tabs (like music, applications, photos, etc...) it goes to the screen where it asks me if I want to set it up as a new phone, or restore it from a previous backup. I don't want to do this! I want to back it up now, and make sure my copy of netshare is safe! Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.
