Itunes weirdness?

I've been using itines for 6 months now, converting a lot of my music to mp3. No problems until recently.

Now, when I "get info" it puts songs out of order back on the main screen.. ie, song number one may now appear in another slot. Probably some setting I screwed up. Anyway it is driving me nuts. Ideas? Thanks.

1. Quit iTunes
2. Move iTunes pref file to Desktop (same as trashing it as far as iTunes is concerned but you have a backup)
3. Open iTunes
4. Quit iTunes
5. Repair permissions
6. Open iTunes... Does it work?
