This problem is driving me up the wall. I have it with iTunes and with the iPod apps on iPhone and iPad.
There is always something "now playing" even when nothing is playing. At one point I had to remove all the music from my iPhone to prevent it from playing the "now playing" music as soon as I ended a call--even though I had not played music in months. One year and a new iPhone later, I put the music back on, and when I ended a call, the "now playing" music started playing, even though it wasn't playing when I started the call.
Imagine I take a call in a business setting, end the call, and music starts blaring. That's not the time or place to reveal my personal taste in music.
The only solution I can find is to remove all the music or never play music in the first place. The problem is not limited to music: there is always a permanently "now playing" video, too.
How do I get rid of "now playing" when I'm not playing anything?
