Hey as the subject says just want to know if iTunes will download the latest iOS for restore even when the iPhone which is to be restored already have it?

Urgent so a quick reply is appreciated
Thanks

It will do that if a phone is connected to it and there is an update.

Otherwise, no, you can't tell it to download and update and there's no option to store them.

If you're looking for a specific IPSW, just download one from the numerous sites online that provide them.

For iTunes to perform a reinstall of the iOS software it will need a copy locally to perform that task. Even if your iPhone is on the latest update, if your computer does not have that IPSW file, it will download it.

Itunes needs the whole restore file on the computer.
It cannot use the already installed ios image of the phone.
It needs it stored on the local itunes library to restore it.

Thanks everyone for the answers. I skipped restoring as I am on a poor connection (512kbps), will do it later.

Read your answers last night only but couldn't reply due to tapatalk issues. Thanks.
