iTunes will not backup iPhone - error occured

My iPhone 5 is not backing up to iTunes. iCloud backup is fine but on my mac it will not back up. Everything what Imresearched indicates to restore the firmware, but I don't want to do that. Does anybidy of youmsolved this without restoring?

OSX and iTunes latest, tried also on Win7 same result. iPhone5 on 6.1.

Oh I was thinking you mean the version of the mac with OSX.. I don't want to upgrade my iPhone.. The mac is on the latest version. The phone is on 6.1 as I described.
