Hello,

I recently experienced a never-ending beachball while writing a message in Mail. iTunes had been open while writing the message. Since then, whenever I launch iTunes, it bounces in the dock for ever, and as soon as I click elsewhere or command-tab, the whole system freezes, forcing a hard reset.

If I don't click/command-tab, it will presumably sit there forever, beachballing while the iTunes icon bounces in the dock (I have left it for up to 15 minutes). Everything else on the system works fine.

I have tried resetting the PRAM and repairing disk permissions. I have not received a single error message through this, but I cannot open iTunes.

I am on a 2009 13" MBP (2.53ghz 4GB), running 10.7.1. iTunes is up to date.

I would appreciate any assistance the community may provide.

Regards,
Paul
