Itunes will not let me add a movie

Please please help someone. Im new to all the IT stuff lol.

I have just ripped a DVD using handbreak in H264 and saved into my movie folder and dragged it to itunes move folder and I keep getting the message "attempting to copy to disk "macintosh HD"failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.

I don't understand as I have done this before and it worked on a friends Mac. Thank you so much in advance for helping

You can do a File->Import to Library (Command-O) and select the file from it's location. I thought handbrake automagically put it in the iTunes directory, is it there already?

There's also a directory under the iTunes library that will add it as well.
