My old MacBook died a little while ago, but I was able to put the whole iTunes folder from that hard drive into an external hard drive.

As far as I can tell, to get my new MBA to run iTunes using an external library, I only need to go into iTunes preferences pane and select the external HD's iTunes folder as the media library folder. However, when I do this, iTunes doesn't "see" the music. I get the default window shows me the different ways to find music.

What else do I need to do so that iTunes will display my music collection when my MBA is plugged into my external hard drive?

Cheers
