iPod touch iTunes won't detect my iTouch over wifi.

Sometimes my iTunes doesn't just detect my iTouch over wifi. It works perfectly at times, and otherwise it will either not detect the iTouch or refuse to sync despite being connected. Is there a manual way to make the iTunes detect the iTouch, or vice versa?
