Itunes wont play any of my music

Hi i am wondering if any of you guys can help me.

When i open itunes it opens fine but when i go to double click on a song to play nothing happens. It just sits there. no sound whatsoever (and yes i checked the sound is turned up) you cant move the song forward to the middle of the song or anything. I am currently running the latest version of itunes. and am using a PC with windows vista.

any tips would be helpful.

Did you make sure that your iTunes library is linked to your music files? I have a friend who is using iTunes on XP and she had to manually link her iTunes library with each music file before they would play.

still wont work

yes i made sure that i manually linked it. It just sits there. Nothing happens its been this way since tuesday of last week. I have tryed everything. Uninstall-reinstall update everything nothing works!
