iTunes won't play songs

I'm running the latest version of iTunes (12.9.2.5) on the latest version of macOS (10.14.2).

When I bring up iTunes and try to play a song, it looks like the play button was registered (I now see the pause button) but the track doesn't advance.

Any ideas what may be going on?
