Itunes won't recognize Iphone 6 (Windows)

I recently tried to put old music from an old windows 8 laptop of mine, now when i try and connect to my windows 10 itunes on my desktop nothing happens. All that happens is a browser window opens with the device icon. Anybody have any idea how i can fix this? I've tried everything most of the support sites have said. thanks
