iTunes won't update iPhone

I'm on 1.0.2 and itunes 7.4.0

My itunes says I have latest firmware even though its not...wth..do I need to be on new itunes??
 
Are you serious? I haven't read this anywhere. I just don't want to lose my ability to make custom ringtons for free. Can anyone else confirm this?
