iTunes, Yosemite, iPhone 4, and syncing

I have been trying to listen to a song purchased on my iPhone 4 that does not appear in my iTunes library after I sync (Yosemite, Mac Pro Early 2008, iTunes 12.0.1.26). What is wrong?
