iTunes/Yosemite question

I just installed Yosemite and when i open iTunes it opens on a new screen, not the desktop. There is no yellow button to minimize. I cannot get to dock unless I quit iTunes.

What am I doing wrong?

If you move your cursor to the very top of your monitor does the tool bar pop down giving you access to the green button? My thought is you have maximized iTunes. This should resolve it for you? If this is not it, then I am at a loss.
