I would like to transfer songs from a playlist on my itunes library to an external hard drive? How would I go about doing this?

Thanks.

Just the song files, simply select all of the song files and drag them with the mouse over to the external drive and then drop them in there.

In the future i would suggest trying to give your thread more descriptive title.

It seems to work if I do each album individually. But it doesn't put it in folders on the external hard drive. How can I have it put the songs in folders?

What format is the external drive. Is it is NTFS then you won't be able to write to it.

You can also find the song files by selecting them and pressing command+R, this will reveal them in Finder. Then you can drag the files to the external drive.

Its a brand new hard drive. I just plugged it in. It looks like it is in FAT32 format. Is "command R" the same as open apple R? Sorry I am still fairly new to macs.

thanks.

Correct.

Just for future reference

Command = apple key
option = alt key
