My father has all his music in his itunes library. He wants to be able to work with it more professionally, like mixing, and cross fading songs. Is there any software that works with itunes, or itunes file types that will allow him to do so?

I don't know much about audio/editing music.. but I would imagine Garageband may do the trick here?

Do you have a mac or a windows pc?

Traktor Pro integrates with iTunes and it's quite powerful. Your Dad can download a demo here.

Edit: Please don't post duplicate threads, thanks. I've merged the two of them together here.

ok sorry, i didn't see the itunes section at first

One problem with working with iTunes songs is the compressed AAC or mp3 type formats of most of the material. If you are going to be mixing and such on the level you want you should be working with .aiff or .wav or some such uncompressed files.

I have had some .aiff files in my iTunes library, but not many.

I'm not sure of what Windows programs will do the job.
