ITV PLAYER APP- connection problem

Downloaded new ITV player (UK only) but although it loads OK and offers all the recent progs, when I click to view reports "There has been a connection problem. Please try later". I've tried for 3 days at different times but always this error message. s it my phone (3GS running 4.3.3) or am I doing something wrong?
 
Connected thru friend's Sky bb and ran app fine so why can't it run within my Talktalk wifi? Runs OK on my pc through same TalkTalk modem!! Any ideas. Is there a setting within Talktalk modem which I need to change?
