First of all, I want to share something about my background. I was born and raised in HK and I used to live in the States for 10 years. I have been working in the advertising industry for 13 years.

Last year, I realized that I should've spent more time with my family in the States, and I think I've learned everything that I can from my previous job. So, I decided to go back to the States and I got a referral from one of my friends who worked at Apple. I came back in last June after I sent my CV to Apple and I got the phone interview in July; then, I got the onsite interview opportunity in Aug. Unfortunately, I received the rejection letter 4 days after the onsite interview. It took me totally 2 months from sending the CV to received the rejection letter. Then, I went back to HK for personal issue after I failed the onsite interview. And I started to go back to the company that I used to work with in HK because I had lots of projects need to be hand over, and I've spent another half year with that company.

I came back to the States again this April and I applied the same position again in July 31st. 14 days later (14th Aug), I got my phone interview invitation from HR and I had my phone interview a day after that. Then, I waited for 10 days for the onsite interview invitation email and I had my onsite interview in (Aug 28th). The interview took place in Cupertino and there were totally 4 interviewers (2 department heads, 1 training manager, and 1 HR I guess). One of the interviewers was a person who interviewed me last year, and I didn't mentioned that to him. I think I did much better than last year because I have better preparation this time.

I sent a thank you email to the HR person who arranged the interview for me right after the onsite interview (Aug 28th), but I have no response. 10 days later (Sep 7th), I got a reply e-mail from the HR person and she just ask me how did I think the interview went. I told her about my thoughts but she didn't reply to my email 2nd time. I wait for another 13 days (Sep 20th) and that HR lady called me directly this time. She said that the hiring manager wanna meet me as well and I met the hiring manager in Sep 24th. I sent the thank you letter to the HR lady after the interview as usual, and I kept sending the follow up email to her every week. Since then, I got no response until today.

#I have a friend who is now working at the same position that I've applied with and he said that the department recruits about 8 to 10 employees every batch. And he told me that there was an internal staff who worked at different department and that internal staff applied for that position as well. The internal staff had her onsite interview 2 days after my interview. And she already got the offer last week.

#One of the interviewers is my friend's department head and he accidentally knows me and my friend know each other.

So, today is Oct 18th, and I still have no response after I met the hiring manager. Anybody wanna share their thoughts about my situation now?
