Go to Network Utility, click the "Finger" tab and then read the first sentence.

The first who looks at it gets a laugh.

I don't get how this is any more hilarious than laughing when someone says "that server is taking a dump". Just because out of context it sounds funny does not mean it is inappropriate. Finger is a network utility that has been around a lot longer than most of us in this forum probably have.

Finger is a pretty good tool to see who is logged onto a system. Then fingering that user lets you see information about that account. Sometimes they include little messages or ascii art. Not that useful for your average Mac user, but I used it a lot when I was in college and had a unix account. It was the only way to access the school's e-mail system (back then email still had the hyphen :D)
