At last, I've finally ordered my very first Mac. Have gone for the new 20" iMac G5 with wireless m + kb, in the next several months will make it 1.5GB then finally 2GB - then the monster will be alive. :)

Its so cool that the iMac comes with tiger, will have fun getting my hands dirty with that! I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions! see you soon

screw around with garageband. i dont even listen to techno and now i started making it on there. its so easy and believe me what i made sounds good. people have asked me if it was the new aphex twin when i played it for them. makes me want to go out and buy a jam pack or two or one of those idrum programs and what not :)

What took so long? How long did you think about it before buying the iMac?

About 6/7 months! yes that is a long time, but I did have to save up the money! tho I'm glad I did wait now with the rev-b and tiger

Do Apple work at the weekend?

Damn, I've become so impatient! I want my order status to do something!! its been at "Sent to Manufacturing" since the 4th May.... when is it going to be "At Manufacturing"

A wise move my friend. Welcome to the club!!!

Nice one mate.

One of the better decisions you could make.

Life gets a lot simpler from here on out.

A watched pot never boils...

:) so true....

..went back to apple.co.uk and ordered Final Cut Pro Express! after a while (couple of hours) went back to look at the status and both were at "Preparing Shipment" yes... :D

Status Waiting

I ordered a desktop Mac finally. I have had a Powerbook for over a year.

I bit the bullet and ordered a 2.7DP with 2x512Mb and 400 GB HD and a 23" Display.
I also order 2 GB Crucial (4x512) and picked up the Logitech Surround Sound from local computer store.

The 23" display arrived. My memory is here and as mentioned my speakers are here. Now I am waiting on a slow truck from California to get to the east coast. Shipped on the 4th and won't be here until the 10th.

My desk was cleaned off this evening and I am anxious to spend less time with my Dells.

Was just wondering, do you get AppleWorks 6.2.9 included with the iMac? or is there a more basic version that you get...
The title of the thread made me think it was about having a baby :D
Yes I think it comes with 6.2.9 - you also get a 30 day trial of iWork
congrats on the purchase BTW
