Hello all,

I currently do not own an Apple watch but am thinking of taking the plunge and buying one (perhaps the Nike edition as rather like the straps they offer). I am buying an Apple watch to mainly be able to leave my iphone at home when I go on my weekly runs (outdoors) and to be able to listen to my music wirelessly through the watch :) I have looked at Garmin options which seem very good, but given I already own an iphone, airpods 2, ipad, mac pro etc I find myself returning to the Apple watch. I just hope the series 6 has better battery life than the 5..

Thoughts/ideas - please post and I look forward to reading them. These gadgets are not cheap as we all know 😉

Wait for the official release of the series 6. It is rumored to be a few weeks away. Once the series 6 is announced, you will have your choice of it or the series 5 (at a better price from retailers).

I think you will really enjoy the watch. It is a great device, especially for running and music.

Awesome. I used Garmin for awhile but was tied into the Apple environment so decided to come back to the AW. I currently have a series 5 and find I use it a lot. Also nice to not have to bring my phone along every time I workout. If I forget it at home (rare but does happen) I really notice it not being there. It has become such a great time saver at work by being able to communicate through the watch.

Definitely wait for the 6 since it right around the corner. I wouldn’t worry about battery life on the 5 though. It was bad at launch but improved quickly through updates. I think it’s quite good

Remember that battery life will be anyway worse than garmin: they are different device with totally different purposes.

Cant wait for the series 6. Im interested in upgrading from an apple watch series 0. Apple watch is great and very accurate word of advice do not leave apple watch on the charging stand for several days or weeks on in because the screen will pop off and battery will swell. Reasons Im interested in upgrading

That's very true. My Garmin only needed to be charged once every 10-14 days. That was great. I wish Apple could get that kind of battery life from their watch. But the AW does function quite different.

Once Apple switches Micro LED, it’s going to change entirely for the battery life longevity. Micro-led poses less power draw, a wider color gamut and does not require any individual lit pixels like OLED does.

Hm, as MicroLED uses 50% power compared to OLED but the display is off most of the time anyway, do you really think it will be much? I guess 2-3 hours more in real life
