iWeb '08. Cant delete text from top of page

Hi
I'm sure this is a simple fix but i'm new to iWeb
Have started to create a website but at the top of each page is the text below

Blank
--------------
It can be highlighted as per a text box but i cannot delete it. This being so it appears on the published site. Can you help / explain?
