I have iWeb '09. When I just turn the program on, the fan speed will increase to 3000rpm.

When I publish (the entire site), it goes to 6000rpm.
Halfway through the publish, it goes back down to 3000rpm.
Then at the end (the circle is completely full, taking forever to finish, in fact hasn't finished yet), it goes to 4000rpm.

I use iWeb often and this never happens before. My fan speed is always at about 2000rpm. I'm using a Penryn MBP (Early 2008). Any help? I do not have SMC fan control, or did any modding/overclocking, etc.

You could use Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities) to look at the CPU usage of iWeb, or of any other process (don't forget to view All Processes).

If the CPU usage is high, the CPU gets hot, and so the fans have to help out a bit.

If you want to know the CPU temperature you can use iStat (Pro or Menu) from iSlayer.com.
